Bird Watching in the Soutok Area

The Soutok-Tvrdonicko Bird Area was established in 2004 to protect ten bird species. These include five species of rare birds of prey: the European Honey Buzzard, Red Kite, Black Kite, Saker Falcon, and since 2019, the Imperial Eagle. The Soutok area is now among our most important sites for the protection of birds of prey. It serves not only as a significant nesting site but also as a migration stop and winter refuge. Among the aforementioned species, this applies to the Red Kite and Imperial Eagle, and notably also to the White-tailed Eagle.
